There’s a reason we usually divide signs into exterior and interior categories. Signs, even ones that convey the same information, tend to look a bit different if they’re installed indoors vs. outdoors. Exterior signs should be manufactured with durability and visibility as the foremost concerns as they must withstand our sometimes harsh weather and intense sunlight.

Indoor signs, however, are different. There are cases, such as in large auditoriums or halls, when being visible at a distance is important, but most indoor signs are meant to be seen from fairly short distances. This makes indoor sign detail much more important. The materials, fonts, patterns used for indoor sign design tend to really get noticed as people see and read them up close. Indoor signs also give you a great opportunity for continuity: your indoor signs should generally have a similar look with regards to fonts, color schemes and materials.

Some common examples of indoor signs include:

  • Acrylic signs
  • Dimensional and channel letter signs
  • LED signs
  • Safety signs
  • Point of purchase signs
  • Hanging signs
  • Temporary signs
  • Product displays
  • Trade show displays
  • Conference room and other office signs
  • Lobby signs
  • And more!
